Find out how to resolve the 153 error message for YouTube videos by adjusting embedding permissions in YouTube Studio.
If the video embedded on your website displays error code 153, this is almost always because the video’s licence terms do not permit it. In this case, the video’s creator will need to grant permission for the video to be played (embedded) on other websites.
To resolve this, the person who uploaded the video needs to adjust the settings. You can do this as follows:
1. Log in to YouTube Studio (studio.youtube.com) using the account that manages the video.
2. In the left-hand menu, click on ‘Content’ to open your video overview.
3. Find the video you want to embed and click on the title or thumbnail to open the video details.
4. Scroll down and click on ‘Show more’.
5. Find the ‘Licence’ section and tick the ‘Allow embedding’ box.
6. Click ‘Save’.
Copy the video link again and paste it back into Voyando.
